SAGA OF THE SANI PASS, MOKHOTLONG & NEW OXBOW LODGE
120 KM INTO LESOTHO – (2 days/1 night)
Day 1 : Depart from Underberg (collection on route, if applicable) in a 4X4 vehicle at 08h00 and travel via the Sani Pass with a stop for early tea at Sani Mountain Lodge. We then travel up Black Mountain Pass for a short walk to a vantage point from where we view Thabana Ntlenyana – the highest peak in Southern Africa at 3482 meters above sea level. We then travel on to Mokhotlong via the stunningly beautiful Sehonghong Valley where enjoy a tour of the town. (once billed as the most remote village in the British Empire) and stop for a short walk down the main road to view the rare Spiral Aloe and shop at the street vendors. We then travel onto Oxbow Lodge for dinner and to overnight.
Day 2: After breakfast group will depart Oxbow Lodge and head back through Mokhotlong onto St James Mission to see the fascinating ceiling of their church. We then drive back up the Sehonghong Valley, looking for the rare Bearded Vulture on route. Once we reach Sani Mountain Lodge we stop for lunch, descending the Sani Pass back to Underberg at around 16h00.
This 2 day/1 night trip overnights at the Oxbow Lodge and includes: X2 lunches, dinner, bed, breakfast, X2 teas, road taxes, entrance fees and guided 4X4.

- In Summer – light weight pants , top and bring a jacket.
- In Winter – dress very warmly , scarf , gloves etc.
